Lake Kivu

From the Rwandan shores, Lake Kivu presents a tranquil and picturesque landscape. This vast freshwater lake, bordering the Democratic Republic of Congo, is a defining feature of Rwanda’s western region. Further south, Rusizi marks the point where the Ruzizi River flows out of Lake Kivu, connecting it to Lake Tanganyika.
