About Nkuringo Bwindi Gorilla Lodge
Nkuringo Bwindi Gorilla Lodge has grown from a humble campsite in 2007 to a renowned eco-friendly accommodation in Uganda. Situated near Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, this award-winning lodge has been recognized as Uganda’s Leading Safari Lodge by the World Travel Awards from 2016 to 2023. It provides a perfect blend of sustainability, comfort, and exceptional service for travelers exploring the region.
Dedicated to preserving the environment, Nkuringo Bwindi Gorilla Lodge operates as a carbon-neutral establishment in collaboration with the Uganda Carbon Bureau. Nearly all electricity is generated through solar panels, with a backup generator only used when essential, ensuring a 24-hour power supply. Rainwater harvesting systems enable the lodge to remain self-sufficient during both rainy and dry seasons.
To support conservation efforts, the lodge spearheads a reforestation initiative by planting indigenous trees in Nkuringo. Guests can actively participate by adopting a tree for $20, receiving updates on its growth and impact. This initiative promotes environmental sustainability and supports the local ecosystem.
Accommodation options include 3 Standard Garden Cottages, 6 Deluxe Garden Cottages, 5 Forest Suites (two of which are Honeymoon Suites with private outdoor fireplaces), and 2 Two-bedroom Family Villas. Each unit offers a private balcony, solar power, gas-heated water, and flexible bed arrangements to meet guest preferences.
Guests enjoy the serenity of the rainforest, the cozy atmosphere of mountain chalets, and the renowned hospitality of Uganda. The lodge works with the Gorilla Junction Organization to promote local skill development and sustainable tourism.

Terms & Conditions
Prepayment
- A 30% deposit will be required to reserve the booking.
- The balance should be settled 35 days before the trip date.
Child Policy
- Children aged 0-5 stay free of charge when sharing a room with one or two adults (Max 2 children).
- Children aged 15 and over will be charged at adult rates.
- If a single adult and a child share a room, the adult will pay the single supplement.
Cancelation
- Cancelled bookings forfeit the 30% deposit if cancelled before 60 days of arrival.
- 50% of the total booking will be charged for cancellations between 59 and 30 days before the arrival date.
- 100% of the total booking will be charged for cancellations between 29 and 0 days before the arrival date, and in case of a NO-SHOW.
- All cancellations or amendments must be made in writing.
